Removals to New Zealand
The furthest destination we ship to – and one we know well. From our Surrey depot to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or the South Island, we plan your move around New Zealand’s 17-19 week transit window and strict biosecurity standards.
What's Included in Our New Zealand Removals Service
Moving to New Zealand requires more forward planning than almost any other destination. The transit time is the longest on our route list, and the country’s biosecurity rules are as stringent as Australia’s. We build extra time into every step and pack with New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries inspection standards in mind.
- Extended timeline planning - we schedule around 17-19 week groupage or 14-16 week sole use transit, ensuring nothing is rushed
- Biosecurity-aware packing that accounts for New Zealand's strict MPI inspection standards on wood, soil, and organic materials
- Pre-clearance available - your goods can clear customs before you arrive, provided all documentation is correct
- Delivery by trusted local Britannia agents to any address in New Zealand, including rural and island locations

How far in advance should I start planning a move to New Zealand?
We recommend starting at least five to six months before your intended arrival date. The transit time alone is 14-19 weeks, and you’ll need time for the survey, packing, and documentation stages before that.
Is New Zealand's biosecurity really that strict?
It is – and for good reason. New Zealand is an isolated ecosystem, and their Ministry for Primary Industries actively inspects incoming shipments. We pack accordingly, but items with soil, wood, or organic matter may still be flagged for additional checks.
Can I import a car to New Zealand GST-free?
Migrants and returning New Zealanders may be eligible for a one-off concession to import a vehicle free of GST and duties. The rules are specific, so we’ll review your eligibility and guide you through the application process.
